Bassey Ebong

Author, composer and singer, Choral conductor, this pastor's grandson grew up in Nigeria where he was fed Gospel and traditional South African songs as well as jazz, pop and classical music. A musical education marked by an African youth spent leading extraordinary mass choirs, between fervor and challenge, joy and celebration of music.
In 2013, after a stay in the United States and England, Bassey settled in France. After acclimatizing and learning French, he started his solo project in 2016, with the title Proud.
Winner of the Fallenfest Festival at La Cigale (2016), then of the RTL Mon premier grand studio contest (2017) and of the Sziget Festival's Jeunes Talents springboard (2019), he released his first EP in May 2020. The same year he appears in the list of artistic favorites of the federation De Concerts. Settled in Orleans since December 2020, he works on the writing of his second EP The Hard Way and develops the arrangements of his compositions with the project Bassey & The Gospel Team. He also continues his pedagogical activities as a choir director and trainer in the field of contemporary music.
